Fall/Winter 2019
Female portraitures in Rennaissance and Baroque period paintings depicted as elegant, delicate beauties as well as glorified homemaker, glamourous intellectuals and regal heroine women. Romanticism in late 18th Century art movement that challenged rationality with individual imagination and sense of emotion in paintings. The clouds in “Wanderer above the Sea of Fog” by Caspar David Friedrich, inspire a sleeve element in the collection. Feminine silhouettes juxtaposed with new proportions coming from voluminous sleeves, sculpted ruffles, humongous tulle concoctions and balanced with full skirts, fitted skirts and wide legged pants. Fabrics for the season are sumptuous, ranging from a variety of rich brocades to black and white tulle and crisp, smooth taffeta in vibrant shades as well as pastel tones.
